Common topics with management teams, safety directors, risk managers, and field crews evaluating Mexar Vapor

Is Mexar Vapor a medical device?

No. Vapor is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent medical conditions. It is a wearable cooling system designed to support the body’s natural thermoregulation during active work in high-heat environments. It complements but does not replace hydration, rest cycles, or OSHA-compliant heat safety protocols

Is this OSHA compliant?

There is currently no OSHA certifi cation requirement for wearable cooling devices. The product is FCC and Intertek (ETL) certified. Mexar Vapor supports OSHA heat illness prevention guidance by helping reduce thermal strain exposure risk. It integrates into: ● Heat Illness Prevention Plans ● Job Hazard Analyses ● Safety Toolbox Talks There is currently no OSHA certification requirement for wearable cooling devices.

Does it replace our current safety protocol?

No. Mexar Vapor complements your existing hydration, rest, and compliance procedures. It improves your heat mitigation strategy. It doesn’t replace it.

Can it handle dusty construction sites?

Yes. Vapor is engineered for real jobsite conditions, including airborne particulates like drywall dust and outdoor debris. We have tested units in environments containing sawdust, plaster dust, cement dust, dirt, and sand. As with most equipment used on construction sites, care should be taken to ensure that debris does not become lodged in the air intake vents. If needed, the unit can typically be cleared by blowing out the intake with compressed air.

What if I sweat a lot?

Vapor works great with sweat. Sweating is natural and expected in high heat. Vapor helps accelerate the evaporation of sweat, which supports the body’s natural cooling process and helps you feel more comfortable in hot conditions. It is also compatible with evaporative cooling vests and wet towels commonly used on jobsites. For best performance and hygiene, we recommend occasional wipe-down maintenance to keep the unit clean and extend its lifespan.

Does it shock or vibrate?

No. While it is battery-powered, the device is low voltage (<12V). It does not use electrical stimulation. It is a cooling device, not a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) or vibration unit.

Can I wear it in direct sun all day?

Yes. The device is intended for outdoor environments and continuous heat exposure. Like all electronics, basic care is required.

How does this translate into ROI?

Extreme heat directly impacts both productivity and cost. A 2025 Harvard study found that heat stress can reduce productivity by 29% to 41% on construction sites. Beyond lost output, heat exposure creates cascading risks across: ● Operations -reduced worker capacity, absenteeism, and overtime ● Finance - increased workers’ comp, turnover, and missed timelines ● Legal - regulatory penalties and liability exposure ● Assets & Reputation - equipment damage and loss of public trust According to OSHA’s $afety Pays tool, a single heat-related injury can cost employers ~$79,000. By supporting improved heat tolerance and helping reduce body temperature during sustained exertion, Mexar Vapor helps keep workers safer, productive, and on-site, avoiding these compounding costs.

Can I wear it with PPE?

Yes. Vapor is compatible with most PPE, including hard hats, vests, and tool belts. It is not compatible with certain harness systems.

What happens if it gets dusty or dirty?

Maintenance is easy. Wipe the unit clean as needed. For dust or debris in the air intakes, use compressed air.

Can I expose it to water?

Mexar Vapor is designed to resist sweat and some water exposure. It can be used effectively in conjunction with an evaporation vest, and if you have damp/wet clothing. However, do not submerge it. Keep it out of direct rain exposure, and store it in a cool, dry location.

What happens if a unit breaks?

Every Vapor unit comes with a standard one-year limited warranty that covers manufacturing defects. We also offer extended warranty options that cover accidental damage. Please contact Enterprise Support for more information on warranty coverage and service options.
